Torrefied biomass can be used as a precursor of other biofuels and value added bioproducts, and market potential.

YGE is also working to identify feasible applications for torrified biomass based products.

Some examples of these applications and technologies:

- Gasification to produce syngas;
- Activated carbon;
- Production of electrodes for industrial processes.
